What can you expect as a Staff Accountant in the first year?
- To work primarily on audit, review, compilation, and related tax compliance for the Firm's CPA practice
- Your duties will typically include:
- Assist Managers and Senior Accountants in conducting audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements
- Prepare accounting and auditing workpapers and schedules
- Prepare third-party confirmations for audits and evaluate responses
- Perform various analyses of certain balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepare trial balances and adjusting journal entries
- Prepare corporation, partnership, trust, and individual income tax returns and corporation payroll tax returns
- Utilize the Firm's computer hardware and software applications in the performance of professional services.� These applications include general ledger, financial statements, income taxes, payroll taxes and specially-designed software program
What can you expect in the second year?
- Assist Managers and Senior Accountants and assume enhanced level of responsibility in conducting audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements
- Continuous and enhanced responsibility on previously serviced clients
- Participate in special projects
- Assume a higher degree of responsibility for income tax return preparation
What can you expect as a Senior Accountant?
- Responsible for conducting audits and reviews of financial statements, preparing compilations of financial statements and preparing related tax work
- Supervise, manage and train Staff Accountants in the performance of audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements
- Interact with client management while performing audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements
- Interact with the Firm's Partners and Managers while performing audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements
- Perform special projects
OTHER SPECIFIC POINTS TO BE NOTED:
- Staff Accountants should anticipate spending approximately 50% of their time in the office and 50% at client offices during the course of an entire year
- 90% of the field work conducted at our corporate clients' offices are located in cities and towns within the Route 128 belt.� Our office is centrally located in Needham Heights, 1/2 mile off of the Highland Avenue exit of Route 128
